I DID “IT”

It took twenty-three and a half years, but I finally did it! I finally hosted my first book discussion/signing for the novel that I knew that I would write (at the age of five years old). Of course, I didn’t know the title or the content at the time, but I knew that I was born to be a writer because I couldn’t think about anything else. If given the choice back then I would have chosen a pen to write with over a fork or spoon to eat with. (I have to admit that there are times when I still feel that way). However, when I stood and spoke in front of a room full of people at the Huntsville Public Library in Alabama, the experience was quite humbling because it was no longer just about me or my attempt to advance my writing career. It was about my family, friends, and (dare I say) fans, who’d taken the time to  purchase, read, and discuss my novel, In the Midst of a Storm, on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. I felt blessed to be in their presence and that feeling meant more to me than anything else…
